Thursday night was California State University Fullerton's 60th Birthday celebration at Disneyland and we went to the happiest place on earth until after midnight! Yes, it was a regular workday and school night, but we had a great time as a family eating ice cream, waffle cones, and churros, and riding lots of classic rides. CSUF had the park to itself after 9:00 pm so the lines were short (a rare occasion these days) and we got on at least 10 rides including the old Tiki Room, Haunted House, and Pirates of the Caribbean, as well as multiple trips down the Matterhorn, Space Mountain, and the old Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. It was a great night with our family, and a fun way to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the creation of CSU Fullerton!
This weekend was also the Superbowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots. We all watched the game at the Armstrong's and we all cheered for the Eagles to beat the dreaded Tom Brady and Bill Belicheck's Patriots. In the end, we ate a lot of delicious ribs that Doug made and the game was exciting to the finish. Perhaps the thing we liked most was that it was hosted in Minneapolis at the new US Bank Stadium and it was only 6 degrees outside! The Eagles won, but not until after it came down to the last Hail Mary throw to the end zone. Another great football season has come to a close!
