The End of Summer (week 553)

With the end of Summer just a week away, it was finally time to visit the Barber Pole and to make our hair more respectable in preparation for the start of the new school year.  Although we have one more weekend trip to Mexico in our back pocket, this week was all about a few last beach days, slumber parties in the middle of the week, a final band concert at El Dorado Park, and Mom starting back to work at Fullerton on Friday and Saturday.

This week, we also started the new soccer season at AYSO 114, Heartwell Park.  This year, Christopher moved up to U10 (because of his late birthday), and I moved up to U12 with a bunch of my buddies.  Chris is on a team with a couple of Patrick Henry kids but he is the only 2nd Grader on a team with 4th Graders and looks like a midget out there.  He is trying but he is going to be on a big field with big guys this year!

On my team--United U12--we have lots of my friends from baseball and Patrick Henry.  In fact, we know 9 of 12 players really well and 8 of 12 go to our school!  Although we are the younger team in U12 this year, we should have a lot of fun.

On Saturday, Tyler Huber turned 4!  Hard to believe that he is getting so big.  He had a big Buzz Lightyear pool party at his house, and I stayed over at Nate's for a last slumber party of the Summer.  Time to say goodbye to the Summer of travel very soon!
