Science Fairs and Fundraisers (week 538)

It seems like the Keisler's are always engaged in some sort of festival, fair, celebration, or fundraiser. This week included all four.  After a weekend of painful science project work, we displayed our projects at the Henry Science Night Wednesday, and both Chris for his "Why the Body Needs Blood" project and my "What Baseball Bat Works Best" project got selected for continuing to the District Fair at Cabrillo High School.  We were all proud of our projects but Chris was particularly into the research, learning, and crafty part of the process.

It was also the weekend of the Bay Shore Church Annual Fundraiser where we performed the "Do Re Mi" song from The Sound of Music, bought lots of prizes from the silent auction (including a year's worth of Martinelli Apple Cider, Angels baseball basket, and a new set of adult coloring books about Owls with Prism color pencils).  It was also the same day as the ELB charity softball tournament to raise money and play in the park; where dads team was on the path to another victory until it started raining!

In any case, it was a community--oriented Weekend involving fundraising and fun for science, sports, the arts, and church.  Pretty well rounded for the mind, body, and spirit!
