We survived another Mothers Day with what we think was a pretty good day for mom and a success for grandmothers everywhere. Mom is pretty clear about what she wants--room to enjoy her coffee and paper in the morning, a chance to take a run and exercise, hard labor in her garden, and a fun in the afternoon with her family and 40,000 friends at Angel Stadium.
It was actually more like a Mothers Day Weekend, because we spent most of the day on Saturday doing yard work, and then weeding, chipping, and trimming her garden. It was good for mom, and also good for Chris, dad, and me to spend time together doing something productive and talking with each other about life. We worked hard and were tired by the end of the day; but, even moms from other garden plots said how jealous they were of the present we gave her.
On Sunday, we went full out with bagels, coffee, and breakfast in bed before we went out to Church and to choir rehearsal. With only a week remaining until the big play, we couldn't miss it. It also meant we were late to the Angels game and we missed the first inning home run by Mike Trout; but, it was a great Mothers Day and we got work and play done for all!
