A Musical Weekend (week 540)

Wow! What a week for music in Long Beach, Las Vegas, Bay Shore Church, Newport Beach and the Rose Bowl.  As dad said, it was a bucket list kind of week for him because he and mom went to see Journey at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel on Friday and U2 at the Rose Bowl in a Pasadena.  Two of the best bands of all time, all in a matter of 48 hours!

Meantime, this weekend was also the culmination of months of rehearsal and anxiety for Chris and I as we finally delivered the musical "Rescue in the Night" about Daniel and the Lions Den.  We were so grateful because our grandparents drove all the way from San Luis Obispo to see the play at Bay Shore Church on Sunday morning.  Grandma Paula and Grandpa Mike even drove down in the morning only to drive right back after lunch at LV Seafood following the performance.

It was a big day for both Chris and I as we both had solos.  Chris was the green Herald that supported King Darius with multiple proclamations and I was Daniel, who had multiple long solos.  I was very nervous about it but it worked out in the end and everyone was really moved by the musical.  I am glad that I did it, but promised it would be my last children's Musical at Bay Shore!  I might help out with the kids in future plays but I am getting too old for this.  Chris on the other hand seems even more ready to go for the Christmas play!
