On Monday (the day after Easter), we all boarded the Amtrak in downtown Los Angeles for the train ride North to Arroyo Grande. After playing some piano (Eli and Chris mainly), we got to ride the train up the coast, pick out our own dinner, and play cards to pass the time. It was beautiful and amazing.
Once we were in Arroyo Grande, we weathered some rain and slept in tents in the field at Grandma Paula's house. One of the days, we went to Hearst Castle and saw the incredible gold painted pools. Another day, we went to Grandpa John's where we swam at Avila Bay resort, and went to the Cal Poly vs. Fullerton baseball game. Eli danced the Chicken Dance in front of the entire crowd and won 16 free chicken wings! We even ate them for breakfast. Everyone loved the Cousin Camp for different reasons. It was also great for my parents who went on a tour of Long Beach: Ballast Point, Cambodia Town, and stayed a night on the Queen Mary!
