Mom to NY--Grandma to LB (week 526)

For the country, the big news of the week was the inauguration of Donald Trump and that there were far more protesters at the event than there were people in the stands to watch the festivities.  For the Keislers, the big news of the week was the Mom surprised Grandma Dubby in New York; and, Grandma Paula came to stay with us to help out while she was gone.

Grandma Dubby has been having problems with her eye, so she had to have surgery.  Mom has been worried about her, so she decided to fly back to New York to surprise her and cheer her up.  Dubby sure was surprised!  Nobody, except for Aunt Lindsay, knew that Mom was coming so Grandma and Grandpa thought that they saw a ghost when she walked into the kitchen.  They had a great time shopping, doing their nails, and going out for dinner.

We had a great time with Grandma Paula at our house. She came in on the train, and took care of us while Dad was at City Council meetings and work stuff.  We walked to school (when it wasn't raining), rode our bikes together, and played games (like Farkel).  On Wednesday night we took Grandma out to dinner at LV Seafood and ordered three times as much food as we could eat.  It was a great time and we were sad when she had to leave Thursday afternoon.  

We have been playing lots of board games since returning from Sky Forest.  When we visited Lake Arrowhead Village, we went to the Toy Store and bought a couple new games--Mancala, Farkel, and Cribbage.  So far, Chris has become obsessed with Mancala (playing non-stop) and I have established myself as the worst Farkel player ever.  For some reason, I just can't get a good roll.  This weekend, we start the Spring Children's Choir Musical: Daniel and the Lion's Den. It may be my last, but I am going to make a big run at the lead part!
