Great Grandma is 90! (week 516)

Can you believe it?  Great Grandma Betty turned 90 this past week, so we all drove up North to San Luis Obispo for her birthday.  Actually, we left Long Beach after a soccer game on Saturday morning and were back to Long Beach by 3:00 pm on Sunday in time to clean up the yard, re-seed the grass, and watch some football!
Great Grandma was born in 1926.  She had two kids who had three grandchildren and even more step grandchildren. She now has 6 great grandchildren that were all at the birthday party (Ari, Eli, Sophi, Eli, Chris, and Ben), which she said, was the first surprise party that she has ever had in her 90 years of life!  She was genuinely surprised when we jumped out from behind the plants and furniture inside the community room at Mesa Estates in Arroyo Grande.
At the party, we played pool and hung out with our cousins. To make the party really great USC upset the previously undefeated Washington Huskies in football, which made everyone happier.

We spent the night with Grandma Paula and Grandpa Mike, and got to see their new giant tortoise Toby.  In the morning we got to go to Pismo Beach for breakfast and walk around on the pier.  The water was all the way up to the breakwall which was pretty crazy.  It was a quick trip but it was a memorable one.
