Mommy did an incredible job of putting the entire party together even though she was teaching classes, running the PTA, and taking care of us while dad was away in Pittsburgh for work. She does so much for us, for our school, and for our friends and families. We are pretty lucky to have such a great mom.
Another big event that happened this weekend is that our soccer team, the United finished our season undefeated 9-0-1. The only thing keeping us from a perfect season was a tie to our baseball team coach Yonce (Orioles) and a huge save by Tristin with no time left on the clock. We were tied 2-2 and I took a free shot from the top of the 18 meter box. It was the last play of the game because the time had expired and Tristan made the save. I got in trouble from my Dad for crying at the end of the game but I thought I had let me team down. Of course we all wished we could go a perfect 10-0, but we still one League, stayed undefeated, and narrowly took the 1st Seed in the Tournament by edging out the Blue Jets who were 9-1-0 (having lost only one game all season to us).
Lastly, Dad got his new job announced in the papers and the news this weekend. After 11 years with the City he became a director for the first time as the Economic & Property Development Department Director. He is pretty excited about it because he says he will get to focus all his time and energy on helping to provide opportunities to entrepreneurs, workers, and families in Long Beach. We are all excited about it because it means that he gets to keep working in the City of Long Beach!
