PTA Kickoff (week 508)

This week, I want to talk a little bit about how much I appreciate my Mom. Not only does she work hard teaching five classes at CSU Fullerton and CSU Long Beach during the week, but also is the President of the Patrick Henry PTA.  Over the past few years, she has worked hard on the PTA Board and now as the President to make our school a better place.  They host events, raise money, and buy all kinds of really neat things for the teachers and the school, and pay for us to go on really neat field trips.  It is pretty amazing that out of 850 kids, Chris and I are the only kids that have a mom that is the PTA President.

She spends lots of late nights putting together envelopes, signs, and fliers for the different events that happen at the school.  On Tuesday night last week, we all went to the Patrick Henry Cafeteria to see her run the first meeting of the year.  There were about 40 people there and she ran the show.  They talked about the budget and different things they were going to do this year.  They all seemed to pay attention and we were very proud of her.  We are lucky that she is so involved.

Also, Mom always makes our lunches, cooks us dinner, and makes sure that we have the right shoes and clothes for the day.  I don't know what we would do without her.  She stays on top of our homework and the news of the day; she makes sure that we are doing the right thing at school but also gets us to our practices and special parties on the nights and weekends.  We are lucky to live in such a great neighborhood with the school, park, fields, classes, and friends all so close by.  Most days, Chris and I don't drive outside the 3 block radius of the house!

We are very fortunate to have such a great life, great family, health, and all the fun activities that we get to do on a daily basis.  Thank you Mom!
