With the Fall in full force, our weeks are now full of soccer practices, children's choir, and the feeling that the holiday season is just around the corner. One of the traditions that we started last Fall, was the introduction of the Sunday Family Scrimmage from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Heartwell Park. This is a chance for all the little kids as well as the parents to get together and run, sweat, kick and play together at the end of the week. It is also a great chance to get some extra touches and for the parents to have some fun as well.
Usually, we have about 12-16 people from 3 to 43 years old and we score a mess of goals. I like it because the parents have fund but also see how hard it is to play the game (and not get injured). Afterwards, it is great to come home and shower, and have dinner as a family. It is even better when the Vikings are playing on TV because they are remarkably the last undefeated team in the NFL at 5-0! Who would have guessed?
