This year, the Bayshore Children's Christmas Play will be "The 12 Days of Christmas". Chris and I have been signing-along with John Denver and the Muppets for the past few years, so we are pretty familiar with the piece. However, Julie our choir director has flipped it around and adapted it to the Christmas Story with Jesus, the animals, and the Kings and everyone.
In a bold move (mostly because I was the right height), I was anointed Joseph and Chris was tapped for the 2nd King (Frankincense). We have been practicing after church each Sunday when we can because Christopher's baseball season is still going and they play on Sunday mornings. We also do a lot of our practicing in the truck, listening to the CD that Julie made for us, on the way to church in the morning. We definitely haven't been able to give it what we gave Jonah and the Whale last Spring, but Dad says we are holding on for the month until we can stop soccer and baseball (and all the traveling), and make a big push toward the beginning of December.
With only a couple of weeks left until Thanksgiving, it is starting to feel a lot more like we are in the holiday season--it has even cooled off a lot.
