The Pirates continue to progress. Although we started the season 1-1-1, we have since won all of our games and are starting to find ourselves as a defensive team that tries to win every restart (throw-in, corner kick, or goal kick). We now count and keep score of every restart and try to win the majority of restarts by quarter. Our new focus on being the first to the ball is paying off, and since we are now holding Sunday Family Scrimmages with our parents and kids, the team is starting to come together.
This week was also the big Patrick Henry Gala. Mom is the Vice President of the PTA, so the family has one set of responsibilities for the events. Dad is the Treasurer for the Foundation, so we have a whole different set of responsibilities. Essentially, our family is involved in one thing or the other every night of the week. This weekend, the big Gala Fundraiser took place so we got to have a babysitter. The event was considered by many to be a lot of fun but the kids have no idea what happened. All we know is that there were magicians, art auctions, and our teachers having a good time at the Petroleum Club!
We are now moving in the direction of the Christmas Play, so Chris and I had to go to Church Choir rehearsal with Dad. We are all thinking about Halloween but Julie has us all thinking about Christmas and the 12 days of Christmas. More to come!
