Spring Break! (week 433)

For the first time ever, Chris and I went to stay with our Grandparents on the Central Coast for Spring Break, and were away from our parents for six nights!  Picking up from last week's blog, after staying with Uncle Ron & Aunt Karen (and the puppies), we went up to Arroyo Grande for Spring Break and a week with our grandparents.   This also meant that our parents had a full week at home to themselves.  While we aren't sure what was going on, they told us that they were really very sad that we were gone and that they missed us very much.  Based on what pictures we found on dad's iPhone, it looked like while we were gone, there were lots of date nights and dinners out on the town.

In any event, the Spring Break at the Grandparents was a smashing success.  We didn't miss our parents or our house at all. In fact, we had a fantastic time eating all the foods that we love: Grandma pancakes, Denny's, In-N-Out; and, we got to go golfing at Monarch Dunes, visit the Nitwit Ridge House, see the Sea Lions, watch a Cal Poly Baseball game, build bird houses, mow the field on the riding mower, and make bracelets.  If there was something that we loved to do our Grandparents found a way to fit it in.  The report is that we slept hard every night and moved fast every day (all day), hiking the dunes, recreating church services, and watching classic Disney movies at night.

The key was that we never got homesick and even asked to stay longer.  Originally, the plan was that we were going to have to come home Thursday night or Friday morning, but were able to negotiate a few extra days and didn't come back until Saturday morning in time for my baseball game against the Angels.  It was a great break for both parties--children and parents--and the Grandparents had such a good time that we are already planning our next get away!
