Happy 88th Great Grandma! (week 411)

This week, our Great Grandma Betty turned 88 years old!  Can you believe that?  She has been living for 22 times as many years as Christopher. She was born in 1926, before the Stock Market collapsed on Black Monday...before the Great Depression hit...before World War II started!  She and Great Grandpa Bob came to Long Beach in 1948 almost 55 years before Mommy and Daddy drove out her from Newark to start their new lives!  We all went to PF Chang's on Monday night to celebrate Great Grandma Betty's birthday.  Chris and I ate a bunch of ribs and orange chicken.  So much that I had a stomach ache.  We ended dinner with a round of fortune cookies and took the balloons home with us.  Chris almost made it out of the restaurant with his balloon still afloat, but it popped on the way out.  So did his energy, and he fell fast asleep in the back of the car only 5 minutes into the drive home. 

Friday night was a fun night with the babysitter Alissa. She is Casey's younger sister and she watched us Friday night while Mommy and Daddy went to the Patrick Henry Gala.  They had a good but very late night and we played Wii games with Alissa including Ben's new game that he got from the Switch Witch (Wii Sports).  

This week, we were all kind of sick to our stomachs, coughing and sneezing, so we didn't do much for practicing soccer or playing very good on Saturday. But the Lizards fought their way to a 0-0 tie game.  Chris was a madman on the field because he has three throw-ins, almost a goal, and was running all over the place. The Lizards kept their record at a respectable 6-2-3 on the year, while the Green Soldiers pulled out a close one (not very exciting one at that), to move to 8-2--1. USC didn't play this week, but there were all kinds of upsets and good football games that Daddy and I watched in the back yard.

Sunday, we all went to John's for some pancakes before church.  It was a big day because our new pastor Dave Clark was voted-in by the congregation.  Also, we got to rehearse our parts in the Christmas play (The Living Creche) where Ben is a Shepherd and I am a Donkey. Sam and I sang our first solo "I am a Donkey" and did pretty good.  We just have to be louder. We have another concert day next week to sing "Never Forget to be Thankful" and "O Morning Star" during the church service.  Only one month left until we do the big play!  In the afternoon, we had people over for sandwiches and went to the Armstrongs for dinner. Another good and active week for the Keislers!
