Do I have to go to CDC? (week 410)

Probably the most frequently asked (and hated) question in the Keisler household these days is "Do I have to go to CDC?". 'CDC' is the hated "Child Development Center" at Burcham Elementary School where Christopher and Mady go before (rarely) and after Transitional Kindergarten (only a few days a week).  We don't actually know or have any reason to believe that there is anything wrong with CDC, but Christopher complains about it every day...every night...and sometimes while talking in his sleep.  When Mommy actually went in to talk with the CDC teacher about why Christopher hates it so much, the CDC teacher said that it Chris was one of the star students.  In fact, the teacher said he was one of the best behaved and most pleasant kids in the class!

This week was a welcome relief from the crazy Keisler October.  Of course, the big news this week was Halloween and an awesome night of Trick-or-Treating in the El Dorado Park Estates--Huber and Stacy--neighborhood.  Chris and I had been waiting all year to take a crack at the 'Haunted Hallway' on Claremore Avenue.  They do a crazy set-up in their garage and driveway but last year we were too scared to go through it.  This year, however, we went through--twice--and although Chris was definitely scared of the Psychotic Clown and the Wall of Hands, he came out talking all kinds of trash about how "funny it was".  We ended up with a huge haul of candy and ate as much as we could that night--knowing that the Switch Witch was coming Sunday to make us a trade: candy for Wii games and Lego Ninjago sets.

We also continued our winning ways on the soccer field.  Actually, the Lizard bounced back from their tepid performance last week to win a defensive struggle against the Ninja Turtles 1-0.  It was a great game that started with rain and ended with bright and beautiful Long Beach sunshine.  Chris cried for most of the game and was on-and-off the field most of the way.  However, the win secured my first winning season as an Assistant Coach 5-2-2, with only 2 games remaining.  In the afternoon, my team (the Green Soldiers) also secured a winning season at 6-2-1 when I scored 3 goals in the first quarter.  They put me back on defense and then in the goal so that we wouldn't score too many more, but we ended 5-1 and happy.

The rest of the weekend was equally fun.  Stacy came over to babysit, play Guitar Hero, Wii, and watch movies.  We ate pizza and candy, while Mom and Dad went to a Dia De Los Muertos party.  In the morning, we all walked/biked to John's for pancakes, went to Sunday School and Choir practice, and built a haunted hallway at Jackson's house.  In all, it was a relaxing and fun weekend with the weather cooling off and the Holiday Season in full effect!
