At age 4, Christopher is becoming quite the painter. His best medium is watercolor on white printer paper and he likes to paint flowers and rainbows. We have been mounting our pictures on colored construction paper and decorating our playroom walls with our work. My favorite picture that he painted is this yellow flower. He gave it to Grandma Paula as a gift so that she could put it on her refrigerator at home.
Last Sunday, we got to go to USC to see the Trojans take on the Bruins at Dedaux Field. Before the game, we walked around campus to look at all the buildings and schools. It was cool to see the Heisman Trophies in Heritage Hall and the George Lucas School of Cinematography. Chris and I both agreed that the Bookstore was the best. Chris got a new lunchbag and I got a vintage pennant for my bedroom.
It has been super hot in Long Beach this week, like Summer time has come earlier than normal. The temperature has been up in the 90s at times. We had the first pool party of the year at the Hubers on Saturday afternoon.
On Friday, the Red Sox got our first victory of the season over the Tigers and our second victory on Monday against the Angels. We have been practicing a lot (in the heat) and taking a lot of batting practice which seems to be paying-off. Nathan has been hot, hitting the ball the last 5 times he has been up to the plate and driving in runs. I have also hit the ball or walked 5 straight times and scored the game winning run off of Nathan's infield single on Monday night. Coach brought me in to close the game and I got the final two strikouts to preserve the 8-7 win.
The bathroom project continues to bump along, now moving into the second month! We went shopping together for toilets, lights, faucets and fixtures over the weekend. We also got new baseball gloves (even a new catchers mitt for Daddy). It was a good weekend for art, swimming, learning, and building!
