One of the big themes these days is "Baby Tyler". This is not the actual baby Tyler Huber--Nathan's little brother--rather, this is the baby doll that Christopher recently ordered online from Amazon.com. Baby Tyler is not a creepy baby doll, as Christopher would have it. He is actually kind of cute, and closes his eyes when he lays down on his back. Christopher has always been very interested in taking care of things--bringing people food, combing their hair, dressing them up. Recently, he has been putting diapers on his stuffed animals and pretending that they are his babies. So, two weeks ago he and Mommy went online and picked out Baby Tyler. Now, Baby Tyler is found lying around the house in various place and positions but also sleeps with Christopher at night and commands a great deal of attention.
This weekend, Grandma Paula and Grandpa Mike also came to visit. Actually, they were dropping off the new bathroom vanity that Grandpa Mike built for our new bathroom but stayed for the weekend to spend time with us playing games, building a fort, and taking bike rides on our new bikes. They came to our baseball games and cheered us on which was awesome.
Also, this week I participated in my first ever sleep over at Nathan's house. After a full day of baseball games in which Christopher got his 4th hit off the coach pitching out of 4 tries, and did some very creative sliding at home plate; and, the East Long Beach Red Sox fell to 0-2 on the season, and I got my 7th strike out of the season; we went over to Nate's for a full-nighter with the Lego Store, swimming, and lots of video games. It was my first such sleepover and I made it through the night without calling home.
Sunday, we finally got to use our tickets for the USC vs. UCLA baseball game up on campus. I got the tickets for my birthday so we are making a day of it to see the campus and spend time as a family.
