It was a busy week for celebrations. With Mommy's birthday on the 18th, my birthday on the 22nd, ELB Baseball's Opening Day on Saturday and Nathan's Grandma's 60th birthday over the weekend, we did a lot of signing, eating, and celebrating.
As expected, all of the boys in the Keisler house forgot to tell Mommy Happy Birthday on the morning of her big day. We didn't realize what happened until almost noon so the jig was up. We tried to bail ourselves out with delicious desserts from Rossmoor Pastries but since Mommy had to make everyone dinner and we did our fair share of complaining about it, we pledged to do better next year.
My birthday party is actually planned for next week due to all the events taking place this weekend, so we did a mini family celebration on the actual day. Saturday started with my favorite breakfast of bagels with creme cheese. I followed this with a chocolate chip muffin and a sprinkle doughnut, and singing with my team at Opening Day. After the baseball celebration was over, we went to In-N-Out where I got a milkshake, two cheesburgers, and french fries. To top it off, we had an ice cream cake with candles and more singing. My grandparents (and great grandparents) all sent presents and cards (with money!), and I got (30) Angels tickets for the upcoming season.
And if we didn't get enough cake and birthday partying, we then went to Nathan's Grandma's birthday and had tacos, more singing, and a giant chocolate cake! By the end of the night, Chris and I were totally beat. We probably consumed 10,000 calories and 200 grams of sugar throughout the day, but it was entirely worth the stomach ache.
The big news around the house (aside from all the sugar and celebrations) is that we are finally remodeling our bathroom. Right now, we are in the process of demolishing the bathroom. It is pretty cool, but pretty dusty. We took our last baths and shower in the old bathrooom this past week, which was actually very sad. I know that Mommy and Daddy are not sad to see them go, but it was highly emotional for Chris who has been taking baths in that bathtub since he came home from the hospital. For the next couple weeks, we are taking all of our baths and showers at friend's houses and our bathroom is in the backyard (provided by A-Throne). It is like camping at home!
Sunday looks pretty busy with basketball playoffs starting and another scrimmage for baseball. Hopefully, this will be the last weekend of multiple sports so that we can all focus on the Rangers and the Red Sox for a while.
