Grandparent Weekend in Long Beach (week 346)

My parents went away for their annual USC reunion in the desert, so Grandpa John and Grammy came down to Long Beach to take care of us for the weekend.   We did every awesome thing that you can imagine that Grandparents would do.  On Friday night, we picked-up Great Grandma Betty and took her to the Municipal Band Concert in El Dorado Park.  We had a soccer practice on the side, but not a lot of people showed-up, and little kids kept stealing our cones.  The theme music was Swing, so Great Grandma was in her groove.

On Saturday, we set-up the water slide and played in the backyard all day.  Although it kills the grass and drives Daddy crazy, we love to fill it up and spend hours doing various flips and jumps off the slide.  At night, we picked-up Great-Grandma Betty and took her out for a long, romantic, dinner at Domineco's.  We ate pizza with the sauce on top of the cheese and lots of bread sticks.  Domineco's is a Keisler family favorite going back many years, passed-on throughout the generations.  It is currently my favorite restaurant to go to...combining all the things that I love.  A great summer day.

Sunday was church and off to Angels Stadium.  Daddy had tickets against the Blue Jays for Sunday afternoon with free hot dogs and drinks.  It was perfect that Grammy and Grandpa John wanted to take us because we actually made it to the stadium on time and got to see the introductions, fire works and National Anthem.  I saw Mike Trout lead-off the game with a home run and Trumbo hit a three run shot in the 5th inning.  Unfortunately, the Angels gave-up 4 runs after we left in the 8th inning and they lost another one...the story of their year.  They are now 10 games under .500 and the most expensive, underperforming team in baseball.  It makes Daddy so mad that he has stopped watching games for a few weeks.

It was great to see Mommy and Daddy return Sunday afternoon, but we had a great weekend in Long Beach with the grandparents.
