Summer Vacation (week 340)

It's official!  The water slide has come down from the attic.  The band concerts in the park have begun. School is out.  Summer is here!  

Almost immediately following kindergarten graduation, Christopher and I began staying-up later, sleeping longer, and spending a lot of time outside in the sun.  Summertime is an amazing time in the life of a kid.  Of course, there is no school.  But even more, parents seem to plan more opportunities and events for kids to get together to keep us busy and out of their hair.  As a result, there are more ice pops, ice creams, and juice boxes floating around.  Bed times seem to get extended.  More late night and early morning movies are on the television. And popcorn pops more freely. 

This is my 7th Long Beach Summer and Christopher's 3rd.  With Vacation Bible School and Dirtbag Baseball camp starting next week, it is looking up.
