Graduation (week339)

Kindergarten graduates at last!  It is amazing to think that just nine months ago Jackson and I were starting Kinder at Patrick Henry Elementary School.  We had some school experience at St. Lukes under our belts, but were very anxious about starting a new adventure with unknown other students, a new and mysterious teacher, and a new big school where everyone speaks only Spanish.  This past Thursday, two of our Kindergarten classrooms put-on a show and dance for a packed auditorium and received our Kinder diplomas.  Grandma Paula, Grandpa John, Great Grandma Betty, and of course my parents were there to see me welcome everyone and to salute the flag in Spanish.  Afterwards, we took pictures and went to Mari's for pizza with our families.

It was a strange few days to follow because Christopher went to Grandma Paula's for the weekend.  He has been spending a day or two, here and there, alone with his grandparents to get some quality one-on-one time.  It also doesn't help that I have baseball and soccer tournaments and practices just about every day, so Christopher has been taking some trips without me.  This past weekend was Eli's big birthday party out at Moro Bay, where they took a glass bottom boat out on the bay and saw underwater.  Christopher got to spend time with his cousins and grandparents; and, everyone slept through the night for three straight nights.  In fact, I set my all time record of sleeping until 9:00 am on Saturday morning with the room all to myself!  Unfortunately, Sunday night--when everyone was back in town--we were back to our old tricks...waking-up the entire house on four separate occasions through the night.

This weekend was also Father's Day, and the Anaheim Pony Father's Day baseball tournament.  We ended-up winning our first three games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning.  Daddy picked-up Christopher on Sunday morning and brought him back for the afternoon semi finals against Irvine.  They beat us twice (badly by the mercy rule), when we were in Fountain Valley, so the fact that we led through the first three innings 3-1, and only lost 5-4 because they threw two of our guys out at the plate in a row to end the game!  I had the world's shortest home run...a swinging bunt that they overthrew at first base.  I kept running as they chased the ball up the sideline...and eventually scored on the same play!
