Our goal for this Mother's Day was that Mommy didn't end up washing the floors like she did last year. Mother's Day presents a big challenge for us as guys--particularly 3-year-old guys--because we rely on Mommy for so much. This is a day when we are supposed to put our needs aside and do all that we can to provide Mommy with a day of rest and relaxation.
The day started out pretty good. Christopher and I made big pink construction paper cards with hearts and flowers that we cut-out from other construction paper. Daddy and I wrapped the new coffee maker that we bought for Mommy with pictures from the newspaper. And, Mommy got to go on a run while we went to the store to buy bagels and coffee. We even made it as far as clean-up, making a Yoda our of Playdough, and going to Bayshore beach with a picnic.
Then, Christopher ripped off the toenail on his left pinky toe. It was pretty bad. He was reveling in his lollypop after lunch and stepped on the side of a shovel we brought to the beach. We all piled back into the truck and drove home to do first aid. Christopher handled it pretty well, although he slept for almost two hours after the incident and did not like having to soak it in the Epson salts. We finished the day with Mommy's favorite Indian food and I think that it was an improvement on last year. That is really all that we can ask is to make it a little better than the last time!
The other big news this week was the sale of Daddy's 1998 Gold Maxima. We had many good memories in that car, but we are also very happy for its replacement--a new 2013 charcoal Tacoma Pre-runner Sport. Chris and I love to sit in the back seat with our windows down and the music up high. Christopher likes to put him right arm on the window sill and let the wind blow through his hair.
We also finished-up baseball this weekend with games against the White Sox and the Tigers. Since I will miss playoffs this coming week, we are done until the Fall and now turn our attention 100 percent to Strikers soccer!
