Somewhere in Los Angeles this weekend was the 1st Annual Bacon Festival. I am not sure exactly what that means, but it sounds delicious. To celebrate, the Keisler boys ate a pound of bacon over the weekend and enjoyed every salty, sweet moment of it. Bacon and bagels, bacon and waffles, bacon-lettuce-and-tomato sandwiches. Since mommy had to teach at Fullerton this weekend; and the contractors were working on the playroom; and everyone in Southern California was looking for Christopher Dorner--which makes Christopher excited every time he hears his name on the radio or television--we spent our weekend with daddy, outside of the house, eating delicious treats, and on the move.
One of my recent obsessions--related to my obsession with glass basketball backboards--has been the YMCA gym. For the past few weeks and ever since daddy took Christopher and I to the gym, I have been pestering him to take us back so that I can run up and down the court and simulate the basketball game that I see on television. Given that daddy's strategy is to keep us moving and to wear us out when he has responsibility for us, we went to the gym Saturday morning for about 90 minutes of running, shooting hoops, and for Christopher to play "Wipeout". This game is essentially daddy throwing a volleyball at Christopher as he runs around the indoor soccer fencing that they put up in the gym for soccer season.
When we left the gym, we had 90 minutes of baseball practice, and then a 3rd birthday party for Sophia Wodynski at Skyzone in Torrance. If you have never been to Skyzone, it is a giant warehouse packed with kids jumping on trampolines. It really is chaotic and cool, and at any given time there is a kid holding ice on his face, head, or bloody lip. In fact, it took Christopher less than two minutes on the big trampoline to crash into a bigger kid and come off crying. My favorite part (and Chris's too), was the basketball trampoline. You could choose between the 10 foot hoop and the 6 foot hoop, and bounce your way to a slam dunk or trick shot. Chris and I took turns and spent the majority of our time trying to make shots on the hoops. After jumping, we all ate pizza, cake, ice cream, and M&Ms to celebrate Sophia's birthday. Needless to say, by the time that we got home we were beat and slept until 7:00 am Sunday morning when we had bacon and waffles, and looked at old videos of ourselves including the family favorite of Christopher dancing. Can you believe that someone was sick every year during the second week in February? Amazingly, everyone is well this year breaking a tradition of illness.
Recently, daddy has also been trying to think of creative ways to get us to church. Our favorite now is to get cheeseburgers and fries at In-N-Out after church. We are usually late to church and I find it most entertaining to look up the versus in the Bible. At the end of church today we got to check out the organ. Did you know that the organist plays with his feet?
