Potty Trained (week 302)

The whole transition from diapers to potty trained was pretty quick and easy for Christopher.  Once he decided he was going to use the potty, he flipped the switch pretty much overnight and left diapers in the dust. There were probably 3-4 accidents overnight in the first three weeks, and then it was dry. He hasn't had any accidents at school and seems to take great pride in the fact that he is able to climb-up onto the toilet (without his little seat), and to take care of business by himself.

Going to sleep for Christopher is a whole other matter.  While I am still famous for falling asleep in about 30 seconds after my head hits the pillow Christopher is becoming famous for the hour-long diversion tactics, which take advantage of his new-found love for the bathroom.  He is up-and-down to "go potty", get a band-aid, show-off a boo boo, get some milk, find a stuffed animal, or just show off a piece of paper that he found in his bed.  Going to bed is a fight right now, and you always know that Christopher will be up again around 2:15 am to "see mommy" each night.  You can hear him coming because he always opens and closes the bedroom door completely when entering and exiting.

This past weekend, Daddy went away for a Men's Retreat in El Camino Pines with Grandpa John and the men from Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church.  He said that he had a good time hanging-out with Grandpa who organized this year's events and that some day he would take me with him.  He said that he was going so that he could learn how to be a better daddy and a better husband.  I am not sure what that means, but he missed our soccer game.

The Geckos continue to roll through the Under 5 Boys League at Heartwell with a 5-1 win over a previously undefeated team.  Even though we gave up a goal this weekend, four different players scored and even had an assist or two.  The best part was that at the end the other coach told Coach Jeff that our parents and kids were really nice.  I am getting into soccer with the Nintendo Wii game that daddy bought me and by striping the field in the backyard each week.
