Busy Busy (week 304)

With school back in session, soccer leagues kicking, and the holiday season fast approaching the fundraisers are in full effect.  Just on Saturday alone, we had to turn-in our fundraising money to the soccer league, attend a school car wash, Walk for the Animals, and decline an invitation to an evening reception at USC.

This week, we went to Pa's Pumpkin Patch for the first time.  Groupon had a deal on unlimited ride bracelets so Jackson, Nathan, I and the little siblings stormed the inflatable slides and carnival rides.  It was a good sign because it meant that when they start taking down the Halloween rides, they will start putting-up the Tree Farm and Christmas trains soon.

This weekend we also won our fifth straight game 6-0 over the Thunder Sharks.  I had three more goals and kept the other team out of the net for the second straight week.  We have only given up two goals all year.  On Saturday, we also went to the annual Walk for the Animals at El Dorado Park.  We got to play on the huge inflatable slide and watch dogs catch frisbees.  Aunt Kelly even brought goats, bunnies, and crazy looking chickens to the park which Christopher loved to pet.  In the evening, we went to Parents Night Out at the YMCA.  We were supposed to be there for four hours, but Christopher got pushed by a big kid and busted his lip.  Mommy and daddy had to cut their parents night out short and pick us up after only an hour.
On the Christopher front.  Christopher is quickly approaching the last month of his terrible twos.  He is the member of the family known most for his passion, affection, and dramatic displays of emotion.  But his greatest traits also present some of his greatest challenges.  As he approaches his third birthday, the whole family has been enlisted in the task of tempering the tantrums; limiting the number of times he gets up at night after going to bed; reducing the use of "no" and "never" in his vocabulary; and tempering his dependence on Mommy.
