Rollercoasters and Swimming Pools (week 294)

Something that I have noticed this summer is that Southern California has more rollercoasters and swimming pools than anyway else on the planet.  It's likely because of our great weather and the number of people living here because these are two activities that are easier done outside.  From Disneyland to Knott's Berry Farm; County Fairs to backyard barbecues; beach days to swimming parties; if there was a place on the planet to be a kid, this is it.

Since we didn't have any camps this week, Chris and I spent all seven days with either mommy or daddy.  We hit Knott's earlier in the week with Jackson and Emma.  We also hit the beach with our buddies and swam it up.  One afternoon we drove all the way to Glendale for a pool party in Nathan's grandma's backyard.  They had a diving board, which was a first for me, and I swam for the first time without my life vest.  It was kind of liberating.  I wasn't sure if I could do it but the actual swimming part wasn't much different than it was when I had my vest on.

It was a terrible week of sleeping that almost put mommy over the edge.  We have been waking-up at 10:30 pm, 12:30 am, and 2:30 am every night yelling for milk, water, anything...and it has been quite a drain on everyone.

The last of the Municipal Band concerts took place at El Dorado Park Friday night with latin-themed music.  We spent most of our time under the trees digging-up gopher holes and chasing dinosaur bones that Nathan claimed were buried under ground.  It is sad to see the last concert of the year because it means that we will also be going back to school soon.

While the baseball season progresses and the Angels keep winning and losing, mommy signed me up for soccer at Heartwell Park with AYSO 114 again.  To get ready, daddy and I pulled the soccer goals out of the garage and started kicking the ball around the yard.  We were definitely rusty and the ball was flying around the yard.
