This week was also the last regular season baseball game for the Rays. We got crushed by the Giants who had some monster 6 year olds, and had players that made diving catches in the infield. We just couldn't get it going but Daddy bought us all churros for after the game, and we got to eat hot dogs from the snack stand for dinner that night. Next up is the playoffs. Apparently, they actually keep score for those games and the winners get to keep playing until they lose. Our parents are really thrilled about that.
Lately, Daddy and I have been striping the backyard with a baseball diamond. We got the white paint from Home Depot and after mowing the lawn on Saturday morning each week, we paint out the baselines, batting box, and pitcher's mound. When Daddy is not there to play, I make the noises of the crowd and pretend to hit, run, and play the game on my own. When Daddy is home, I harass him until he plays catch and throws pop flies to me so that I can dive and catch the balls. Christopher is not so much into baseball but he likes to run the bases and have use chase him with the ball. He particularly like to be tagged out...so he rolls on the ground and laughs when we tag him.
Finally, we are going to Angel's Stadium for the first game of (our) season. The Angel's are getting crushed this year and Albert Pujols has gone the longest stretch of his career without a home run. The Angels have shown a little life recently but are still only 11-17 on the season. Albert got the night off last night to see if he can break out of the slump so we are all going to the stadium today to see if this is the time for his first home run of the season as an Angel. Fingers crossed. Daddy and I bought Red Vines and Big League Chew for the game against the Blue Jays at noon.
