It was hot in Southern California this week. On Tuesday, it got so hot that Christopher and I had to go to the store to get a pool for the backyard. We even got two giant Styrofoam noodles to play with in the water and were having an awesome time playing with the hose and splashing each other until Christopher's swim diaper popped and he pooped in the pool. Talk about an evacuation drill. It was a bummer because we had to shut it down for the rest of the day to clean everything up. So is life with a little brother.
Happy Cinco De Mayo! This year it was our turn to have the neighborhood party. All my buddies--Nathan, Jackson, their parents and their little sisters--came over to eat Carnitas and play in the backyard. It was a wild party with baths, popcorn, and movies. Christopher and the little siblings crashed early but Jackson and I stayed-up past 9:00 PM. Luckily, I didn't have school the next day but everyone else had to go to work so it was a little rough.

Friday, Aunt Leah came over with Papa and we searched for plastic Easter Eggs in the backyard. We were all headed for San Diego for a short vacation (or bacation) in La Jolla to stay with the Craigheads. It was a short bacation, but we got to spend time at the beach building Angel's Stadium out of sand, swimming at the pool, eating pizza, and shooting hoops at the park. It was good to see John and Mapi again, and very cool to sleep on a big blow-up bed. Mommy and daddy weren't too excited about everyone sleeping in the same room but we survived.

La Jolla was pretty cool. We hiked on the hill and took a walk through the Village to get pizza. John had a cool Go Pro Camera that we attached to Christopher's chest to see what the world was like through his eyes. One thing was clear, Christopher sees the world much differently than we do--mostly the lower half of people, the base of trees, and everything at 100 miles per hour. He runs everywhere...and takes off the moment a door or gate is left open. Last week he escaped and was on his way down the street when the neighbors caught him. Within the first five minutes at the condo in La Jolla he had discovered how to open the front door and was down the hallway to the stairs. It is going to be a long few months before his brain catches-up with his feet; and mommy and daddy can catch-up with Chris.
