Long Beach @ 2 (week 127)

It was great to spend a week at home after having been on the road for the month of July. A little guy can only handle so many long drives to the mountains, long flights across the country, and nights away from his crib. It's not that I don't love to travel and spend time with my grandparents, but it can sure throw-off your schedule...and I am a guy who needs and likes routine. I love being near my own backyard, the Bagel Store and trains. I have included a picture of mama and me making pizza with the tomatos from the garden.

This week, mama and I spent lots of time with our friends Nathan, Jackson and Aiden. We saw Veggie Tales (Pirates) at the movie theater together and I yelled at the screen when the worms were chasing the potato. Mama brought us popcorn from home but I told her that I wanted the warm peatre popcorn that smells so good when you go to the movies.

This was definitely the week of no-fault injuries. Also, I stepped on a screw in the front yard with my bare feet. I was helping dada with the watering when the screw jumped-up and bit me in the foot. Dada had to pull it out and make it bleed. Luckily, I had my tetanus shot and a bandaid but I am not allowed to go outside barefoot anymore. Shortly thereafter, I got another injury when dada was using the weedwhacker to edge the lawn and a pieace of grass shot-up and hit me in the chest. The next morning, mama caught me eating Neosporin in the bathroom and had to call poison control. On Friday night, at band concert a three-year-old kid launched a big stick through the air and hit me in the side of the head. Again, I got a big black-and-blue-bump and a bloody head. Dada and the other kid's dad got together and came-up with a plan to have him apologize. It took away a little of the sting but I definitely feel like a target this week.

So much more has happend but overall things are going very well for me. I look forward to a weekend at home with mama and dada...with church and brunch on Sunday.
Word of the Week
Watcha Doing? Usually combined with mama and/or dada as a form of inquiry or used as a general statement. Watcha doing can be repeated over and over again even after getting an answer to the question. Two-year-olds use this phrase non-stop.
