A new tradition we started on Sunday mornings is to have breakfast with Dad before going to church. Typically, we go to a different breakfast spot with just the boys and we talk about life--work, school, metaphysics and the nature of being! Actually, we just talk about what is on our minds but have a good 30 minutes to really spend time together. Jackson has been joining us recently and has a lot of good questions too. I hope that we can keep the tradition going because i is a great time to check-in and learn about each other as well.
This weekend, we sang in the church service along with the full Chancel Choir at Bay Shore. It was pretty cool because there was a baptism for Julie's granddaughter. They had a full set of instruments--winds, horns, and drums--to accompany our singing, and we have never been a part of creating so much sound!
This week, we also moved-in with the Hubers (and Sparky). The construction is getting closer to being completed which means that they took down the plywood walls, started the work of drywall mud, sanding, priming, and painting (among other things) which results in a lot of dust! They say they will be done with the house in one month--just in time for the Christmas Party that mom has scheduled for December 16th but I am not sure that they will be able to pull it off. Fortunately, we have such wonderful friends that the Hubers have opened their house to us. We now have 9 people living together under one roof!
