Back to Camp and Angels Stadium! (week 504)

After returning from our big trip back to New York, it was back to work for Mom and Dad.  It was also back to full day camp for both Chris and I as we crept closer to the first day of school.

Chris is still progressing as a budding artist and spent the week at Creative Arts Camp.  They did everything from art projects to swimming (not sure how that fit in), but had a great time.  I spent the week at Dirtbag Camp for the 6th year (yes I started when I was 3), and ended the week with another "Dirtbag of the Week Award", which is the holy grail for me because it includes a certificate and usually baseball cards signed by the players.

The day that we had been planning since Spring Training in Arizona also finally arrived, and both the Yankees and our Arizona cousins Benton and Trevor came to town for a three game series at Angels Stadium.  We had an awesome time at the hotel before the game, tailgating in the parking lot, and eating lots of bad food at the stadium.  It was the last band concert at El Dorado Park the night before so we missed the Friday night game, but saw both the Saturday night and Sunday matinee between the Angels and the Yankees.  Neither team is very good this year, but it didn't matter because there was still good food, fireworks, and lots of screaming fans to make it a super awesome time.

We all went back on Sunday afternoon and spent time with our friends the Macchias.  I got to go into the stadium early to see batting practice while Chris spent the afternoon in the parking lot teaching dad to play Pokemon and catching Pokemonsters under the Big A.

It was a dream come true to see the Yankees in town and go to the stadium back-to-back.  The Summer is coming to a close!
