After a lot of busy weekends and weekends away, we finally got to spend some time at home. Lately, we have been missing Children's Choir for one reason or another--basketball games, Spring Training, birthday parties--but we got back on track this week with singing in church and rehearsal.
I may have mentioned it before, but we are performing "Are We There Yet?" for the Spring musical, the story about Moses and leading the Hebrews out of Egypt. I am a speaker (narrator) for the play this year and Chris is one of Pharaoh's guards. He gets to hold a giant spear and make menacing gestures at Moses, which he loves. He is also really into practicing the songs, reading through his script, and making little drawings of the scenes on the score. We think that Chris is really artistic, and really likes to be in the church plays. As he gets older we are hoping that he takes on even more music and art because his drawings are getting better and better, and he loves nothing more than to spend a lot time coloring or sketching something out.
Chris also expressed interest in playing some soccer again and signed-up for the British Soccer camps on Saturday mornings for one hour. He and Emma were in the same group and were actually really into it--running hard, chasing the ball, and even passing to one another and scoring. It was great to see Chris want to play and he has been asking Dad to practice a little in the backyard at home. Between baseball practice, soccer practice, homework, and singing practice, I sometimes feel like the Hebrews in Egypt--are we there yet?
