Each night before we go to bed, Dad reads to us from the Kindle. We have been making our way through some classic novels:
Three Musketeers
The Twits
The BFG
James and the Giant Peach
This past weekend, we finished up with James and the Giant Peach, so when Mommy had a birthday party to go to on Saturday Night, the boys ate popcorn and watched the movie off Netflix. Actually, Christopher watched the movie--all of it--while Dad and I slept on the couch. Chris and Mommy are the only members of the family that can stay awake at night to finish movies. Dad and I usually fall asleep right away and miss most of it. In any case, we decided that the book was better--big surprise--and are looking forward to our next novel.
On Sunday morning, the boys went to International House of Pancakes (IHOP) for the first time. Actually, it was more of a bribe to get Chris and I to go to Church but it was worth it. We all got dressed-up and went to breakfast in our Sunday's best. The pancakes were truly better than most, and we had a good time even though we had to suffer through Church from start to finish.
In the mornings, I am still reading one Bible story to Chris and Daddy each day. My goal is to read all 100 stories before Christmas. Dad has promised that we will have a big celebration of my choice once I finish the Bible for the first time. I was thinking about Disneyland, but then I found out it would just be Chris and me. Apparently, Disneyland is really expensive. Instead, I have suggested that I would take my best friends bowling and to In-N-Out (sound like my birthday party), because it is a lot more fun with a lot more people for a lot less money.
It is that time of the year that we go to the beach a lot. Our moms too us all to the beach after camp, mainly to burn our energy, and so that we will not drive them crazy in a confined space. We are able to play near the water now without scaring our parents with the fear of drowning every two minutes. Living near the ocean is pretty awesome.
It is also that time of the year again for soccer season. With baseball over, Chris and I are going to play AYSO. I had my first practice for U8 but also found out that my feet had grown 2 full sizes since February when I last put-on my cleats. I had to wear regular shoes at practice because my size 2 Ronaldos didn't fit anymore. When Mom took us to the Sports Chalet, we found out that I wear a size 4 (two sizes bigger in just 6 months)! Dad is coaching Chris's U6 team this year but they haven't practiced yet. The plan is that I am going to be one of the assistant coaches. I am super pumped about the prospect.
