10,000 Miles (week 389)

As we are winding up the school year at Patrick Henry, we are also winding up our various programs and awards.  This year, my 1st grade class ran over 2,500 miles.  It was the most of any grade level and took a lot of time and energy from kids and parents over the course of the year.  Each morning we would show up to school around 800 am and run as many laps as we could until it was time to go to class.  Sometimes this was just 1 or 2 laps, while on other days we went nuts and would run 8 to 10.  They played music and each time that you completed a lap, the parent volunteer would mark your card with a check or a cross.  My goal for the year was to run 100 miles but I ended-up with 125.  We had our awards ceremony this week and we all got golden feet dogtags as well as certificates of accomplishment.

This weekend, Dad also went to his 10th annual USC reunion with his friends in Palm Springs.  We stayed home because we had baseball games.  The Red Sox finally lost to the Indians to finish fourth in the league. It was a good season.
