Was That a Vacation? (week 368)

The last week in December (and the first few days of January), was the last week of our Christmas vacation.  It was fast and it was packed!  We celebrated New Years Day at the Armstrong's, and stayed up to almost 2:00 am watching the ball drop and watching movies!  It took the next three days of going to bed early and waking-up late to finally catch-up on the sleep and the energy we burned on New Year's Eve.

Mommy had a work trip to Texas that started on the 1st of January, so daddy took vacation days to stay home with us.  I had a Christmas baseball camp at CSULB, and Christopher got to play with Mady at her house.  In fact, almost all the days that mommy was gone, we went over to our best friends houses to play and have dinner.  I think that everyone felt sorry for daddy.  This week was also tryouts for ELB Pinto baseball.  The baseball camp was a good warm up for the tryouts on Saturday morning which were a lot like all star tryouts.  We hit, pitched, caught fly balls, and fielded grounders.  Nate also had tryouts so we are hoping that the same coach picks us.

Mommy and Chris were also super sick.  Mommy came home from Texas with something like the flu and was in bed until Sunday afternoon.  We felt sorry for her so we stayed out of the house the whole time.  What we didn't know was that Christopher was also getting sick and ended up with a fever Saturday night.  He was still really hot on Sunday night and woke everyone up every hour.  It looks like he is going to escape having to go back to school on Monday morning! 

Sunday morning was also basketball day.  We had a game against the Wildcats at Los Alamitos High School.  It wasn't even close.  They hit 75 percent of their shots and beat us 42-18.  Nobody could believe it but nothing was falling for us.  Afterwards, we went to Jackson's church for Sunday school since our church had already started.  

The big news is that we finally finished our Galaxy cornhole boards.  We put the decals on Sunday afternoon and tested them out.  They look and play great.  Although I still haven't beat my dad yet, I now have something to practice on.  It only took us about 2 months to build from scratch, but boy are they nice!
