No Rocks! (week 367)

There was a lot of pressure this year to maintain my status on the nice list.  It's hard to stay nice when you have a 4 years old brother. Right up to the morning that Santa delivered the goods, I was very concerned that I would end up with rocks in my stockings. Thankfully, when the sun rose (or at about 5:50 am on Christmas morning), there were presents under the tree and lots of good stuff in my stocking.

In fact, the first words out of my mouth on Christmas morning were "Daddy, I didn't get any rocks!".  It was still dark outside, so after taking a quick inventory of the presents Daddy and I went to the playroom to read blogs and look at pictures from when I was a baby.  When Christopher and Mommy finally woke-up, we got to open all the presents.  I was most excited about the goals from Uncle Mark, but Christopher got some pretty nice stuff too.  There were a lot of science kits, building sets, and learning games this year.  The hit game this year was Battleship.

We spent Christmas Eve at church.  In fact, we spent 90 minutes at Bayshore watching the children's Christmas recital and the service.  My favorite was lighting the candles and singing Silent Night.  Afterwards, we had a pasta dinner and opened a present.  We were so pumped-up for Santa to come that I was surprised we were able to get to sleep at all.  We left him cookies and a carrot for Rudolph.  For Christmas, we had Max and Lina and the Modica Family over for dinner.  It was a record 83 degrees in Long Beach, so we spent our day in the backyard.

Since Christmas was on a Wednesday this year, Daddy had to go back to work the day after Christmas but it was the weekend before we knew it.  We played Shuffleboard at the Armstrongs, since Doug converted the gym into a playroom...for daddies.  I had basketball practice in Rossmoor on Saturday morning and got to go to Logan's house after church on Sunday.  Mommy and daddy spent the afternoon throwing-away our old toys to make room for our new toys.  Christopher was pretty upset when he realized what was going on.  It was a good Christmas, but I can't wait for New Years!
