Happy Easter! (week 328)
Easter Egg Hunt! One of the proud traditions of Patrick Henry Elementary School is the annual Nature Center Field Trip and Easter Egg Hunt at El Dorado Regional Park. This year as Class Mom, Mommy was very involved in coordinating the trip for the four kindergarten classes. After taking our field trip and learning about the Nature Center, we had a lunch in the park and the entire crowd of maybe 120 kinders got to kick off the Easter weekend with a wild and crazy egg hunt. Even the little siblings--Christopher and Emma--got to make a run at the eggs. Jackson, Nathan and I got the most eggs but strangely, much off the candy disappeared before we even got home. Daddy came by from his office at the park to see us all run down the hill in search of the eggs.
For the first time years, we didn't have the Easter Egg Hunt at Uncle Ron and Aunt Karen's house. We stayed close to Long Beach and I helped Daddy to put the new decomposed granite (DG), into the front and back yards. We had to trim all of the bushes back on Saturday and then take a hundred wheelbarrows of DG to the front, side, and back yards. Christopher mainly climbed on the big pile of DG and crawled in and out of boxes. He isn't the most help yet, but he still wants to be one of the guys. We built a patio and made the warning track on my baseball field nice and clean. As a reward, we got cookies and on Sunday after church we all go to go to the baseball field at Heartwell Park with the grass infield to throw off the mound, hit, and field fly balls.
We also decorated Easter Eggs. I was so excited to dye and color the eggs in preparation for the Easter Bunny. On Saturday night, we put out the carrots and a thank you card to the Easter Bunny to express our gratitude for the candy and gifts that we were anticipating. I was thoroughly fired-up and couldn't wait to get up in the morning to check my basket. In no way disappointing, we were up by 6:30 am and the baskets were full. The Dubby Bunny sent us all kinds of gifts, including Starbucks and Lowes gift cards for Mommy and Daddy. We had breakfast of Kelbasa in the Dubby Bunny's honor and went to church at Bayshore. By the end of the day, Christopher had eaten so much candy that he couldn't sleep and was up 7 times in one night. It was a perfect Easter.
