Potty Training! (week 296)

At 2.75 years old, Christopher is only about two weeks away from starting St. Lukes pre-school and has begun the long uphill climb of potty training.  He has showed a strong interest in the potty and in underwear for a few months, but getting back from New York has been the beginning of the end of diapers in the Keisler household.

So far, it has been mixed results.  There have been a few days where Chris has informed us of his intention to use the potty; in at least two cases he has gone to the bathroom himself, put on his seat, and landed the plane on his own.  Saturday, he started out great until Daddy caught him peeing on the living room floor.  Sunday morning was a major regression.  We went through three outfits before Church.  He is wearing a diaper out in public and changing a lot of outfits and underwear at home.

Chris has also surprised everyone with his intelligence.  On Friday morning, Dadddy was looking for some clothes to get Chris dressed when he realized that he was reading out of a coloring book and counting from one to twenty!  Nobody was aware of this skill, but apparently the shows that he is watching on television are paying off!

We have also been sleeping better--god willing--since we got back from New York; and are back to our own beds.  Actually, Mommy has been keeping us awake all day and making the room super cold at night with the air conditioner.   The noise and the temperature is keeping us comfortable and quiet all night...and paying dividends for everyone in the house.  It is still very hot in Long Beach.  Apparently, the 90 degree days we are experiencing are much cooler than what they had the week we were gone in New York...but it is hot nonetheless.
