Since we were in Yosemite for the first couple days of the week, I missed the first two days of Vacation Bible School at St. Lukes. I am a huge fan of VBS because we get all the best part of preschool without the work and the naps. This year the theme was "Superheroes" which involved making super hero capes, masks, dancing, and singing. Everything culminated with our performance on Sunday...a ninety minute marathon and classic Lutheran Church potluck to follow. We sang such hits "Pharoh Pharoh" and "Jesus is a Soccer Superstar".

Chris and I also went to Knott's Berry Farm with Daddy on Wednesday afternoon. It was sort of a reversal of roles because Mommy had to teach at Cal State Long Beach while Daddy had the last day of vacation. We had lots of clean-up work to do in the morning as a hangover from camping (e.g. washing cars, folding laundry, cleaning the yard) and I had VBS in the morning, so we went later in the day. The funny thing was that Chris slept through the first hour at Knott's. It drove me crazy because Daddy couldn't go on any rides and I was restricted to what I could do on my own. There were also tons of kids at the Park from around the region. They were part of day camps from the YMCA and Parks & Recreation programs through LA and Orange counties. You could tell because they all had the same colored shirts on and were gorging on sodas and snacks. It was a dream come true for Chris and I given that we are such roller coaster buffs. We spend so much time on YouTube watching roller coaster videos and drawing them...we just like to stand underneath them and watch them in person. Per tradition, we picked up fries on the way home and ate them as we watched the Angels beat the Blue Jays in Toronto.
