Hello 2012! (week 263)

It is sad to see the Christmas tree go. I have said many times that I am going to miss it. Appearances aside, I am a very sensitive guy underneath all the sports, smells, and potty words. Christmas and New Years is my favorite time of the year and I can't wait for it to be December 1st again.

By next Christmas, I will likely have been a Kindergartner for at least three months at Patrick Henry Elementary School. I will probably be one of the older kids on my tee ball and soccer teams. It is highly likely that I will be riding my bike without training wheels, and I will probably have logged at least 1,000 hours of time on my Nintendo Wii. I expect to be reading some, and I will be five years old.

Christopher will have also started St. Luke's Preschool, will have probably stopped wearing diapers, and will be talking in sentences. By Christmas next year, he will be out of his crib and into a real bed. Likely, Christopher will be riding my old silver three-wheeler bike and will inherit an entirely new size of clothing. He has started painting water colors and drawing more. Likely, he will have his own notebooks and will get rid of his hi-chair once and for all. He will be three years old!

Since we were off from school again this week, we went to Knott's Berry Farm with a gaggle of families. It was the first time that I started riding roller coasters and brought my map of the park home to show daddy what we saw and did. Christopher got his stitches out of his chin this week after a drawn-out struggle with Dr. Quan...and within 48 hours, opened the cut again when he tried to climb a short fence and slipped. It wasn't a huge cut and sealed again on its own.

For New Years, we went over to the Armstrong's for the 3rd straight year. I made orange "jello cars"...essentially little cars made out of jello. After all the appetizers, running around, juice, jello cars, and desserts I threw-up in the sink. We all made it to midnight to see the ball drop and all the kissing in Times Square. Christopher was definitely the hit of the party with his crazy dance moves. While we watched the different performers, Christopher stood at the television in his skin-tight pajamas and danced in the New Year. Welcome 2012!
