Passenger 19C (week 237)

Our New York Vacation came to a close Friday with an evening flight back to Long Beach. This was Christopher's final free flight as an infant so he made everyone pay for it. To make sure that he had plenty of energy for the endeavor, he took a three-hour nap before we left the house for the airport. Although Daddy tried to run him (leashed) through the terminal for about (90) minutes prior to take-off, Christopher seemed to gain energy and enthusiasm for the flight. He also pooped in his diaper the moment that they called for boarding.

Christopher is, by nature, a social dude. Therefore, the notion that his whole family is forced to sit with him (four people in three seats) in a confined space for over five hours is a tremendous thrill. With two hundred men, women and children also sitting nearby, Christopher can't help but jump, climb, laugh, and scream for the better part of the flight. This time it took over 300 minutes before Daddy was able to get him to fall asleep (kicking and screaming in the plane's kitchen). To top everything off, Christopher poured his drink into Daddy's lap so that he flew at least half the way to California with fruit punch in his boxers.

Other than our flight, the trip to New York was a smashing success. Mommy had her interview, Daddy got to see Manhattan from the Circle Line Boat Tour, and we got to spend a day with Dubby and Grandpa Andy going to the Pet Expo. We did a tremendous amount of swimming in the pool and I got good at swimming across the middle of the pool by myself. We ate a lot of good pizza and spent some serious quality time with Cousin Steven. It was decided by all that we would return for Christmas--although Daddy and Mommy have already been debating about how we should break-up the seating arrangements on the plane given that we will have to by four plane tickets moving forward.
