A Week In Anaheim (week 215)

Talk about a kid's best week! We started the week with a trip to Disneyland. My Cousin Eli came down to see us and go to Disneyland for the first time. It was a perfect, sunny day, and the Park was crowded because of Spring Break but we got to do a lot. Christopher and Cousin Sophia also came along (with our parents and grandparents). The highlight for me was going to the Tiki Room for the first time. It had always been such a scary place in the past because it was dark and there was so much noise. But Christopher and I both loved it and Eli had a great time talking to the Disney characters. It helped that both Eli and I are going through a competitive stage to see who is the tallest, who runs the fastest, and who is willing to go on the scariest ride. I was relieved though, when the line at Pirates of the Caribbean was too long--because Cousin Eli wanted to check it out and the whole thing terrifies me.

After a long off-season, we were back in business Sunday when we attended our first home game of the year at Angel's Stadium. I must have drawn over (100) pictures of the stadium in my red notebook during the months between visits, but the wait was well worth it. We saw Jared Weaver strike out (15) Blue Jays and the Angels won the game 3-1. We met Nathan and his mom Cheryl at the game, which made it even more fun for Chris and I. Although I was a little terrified about sitting so high up in the stadium (our backs were against the wall), we got to walk around a lot. Christoper loved the movement in particular because it was Family Sunday and they had all of the kid's games open in the right field pavilion. It was very cool.

Saturday, the Dodgers played the Orioles in Tee Ball. It was a little concerning when we only had (3) players at game time, but by the time that the other team had their helmets on and they got instructions from their coach we had enough to fill the infield. The Dodgers are not know for their promptness or their discipline. Daddy says the culture comes from the top and has to do with the coaches also being late all the time. He says everyone is still learning because we have nearly all (4) year-olds and none of our players (or parents) have been in the League before. We are making some progress though because we didn't have any injuries this week that were caused by our own players.

We also got to go to Church at Bayshore Sunday morning. Chris only made it about (5) minutes in the Choir Loft before he got tossed. He couldn't contain his excitement for the stained glass, the choir and the music. He was pointing, oooing and awwwing at everything and mommy had to take him to the Nursery to get it out of his system. Unfortunately, there were screaming babies there as well so they ended-up out front of the Church Foyer for most of the service. We keep trying to get him some church experience but it is a tough age at the moment and we just have to take what we can get.

It was a good weekend because it was also Aidan's 5th Birthday Party as well. They just moved into a nice big house down the street and had a party in the park. We got to play Corn Hole and jump in the bounce house. By the end of the day, Christopher was so tired that he had to get into the bathtub when we got home and his legs were so sore from all the walking at church, the stadium, and the party that he looked like he had wooden legs. It was a perfect day for a kid!
