Memorial Day Weekend! Summer has definitely reached Long Beach and the Carfax neighborhood has begun to stir with another year of front yard water slides and backyard barbecues. The parents set-up the neighborhood slide and put tents out on the sidewalk. The temperatures finally got above 90 degrees for the first time in a long time; and I got my first sun burn of the year.Sleeping through the night has not improved much; although there is a chance that my issues may be related to allergies or something else. Usually, I go down around 8:00 and start yelling and crying each hour until about 1:00 AM. Of course, I don't actually wake-up at all but the rest of the house is awake and tells me that is the case. Mama says we are going to go to the doctor to see if there is something we can do about it.
On Sunday, after church, we went to our second Angels game of the season and explored the big rock and the waterfall in center field. Christopher did pretty good considering it was so hot; in fact, he didn't cry once even through we were sitting in the direct sun and the upper deck. Dada says we have to sit in the bleachers and the upper deck until I can sit through an entire game. We still make it for only about (5) innings tops. The most fun was running the bases outside the stadium. They have a big league infield made of the bricks near the parking lot and in-between the two big red Angels helmets. I ran the bases (3) times before running out of gas. Fortunately, the Angels came back from a 7-2 deficit to win it in the bottom of the 9th on a (3) run home run. Unfortunately, we weren't there to see it because we were all asleep in the car by then.
Project Little Brother (week 25)
Christopher has begun to eat a lot of more solid food. His favorites of course, are sweet potatoes and carrots. He also had his first taste of green beans and eats bananas and cereal. The hardest part is that he loves food so much that he constantly gets his hand in his mouth and tries to grab the spoon away from dada when they try to feed him. Likely, he is going to be a very good eater--or at least an enthusiastic one throughout his life.
Word of the Week
I Have Bad News: usually refers to an event that occurs at second base whereby the runner (Ben) slides and the ball comes loose (from tagging himself out).
