Big Brother Ben (week 169)

The New Yorkers are coming! The New Yorkers are coming! There is little better for a young man than to have his East Coast relatives in town for the week. Not only do New Yorkers like to buy presents and things for grandsons and nephews on a regular basis, but when they are in town they like to have fun. This past week, grandma Dubby and Aunt Linnie came to Long Beach to spoil Christopher and I, and to paint the town red.

We went to Disneyland on Friday morning. The highlight, of course was Small World--which is now Christopher's favorite ride. The windmills are most striking. Christopher's head was on a swivel the entire boat ride; he is a joyful guy to begin with, so Small World is right up his alley. Lots of people singing, smiling and dancing, to an irresistible tune. Since last week, I haven't been able to get through the day without a Small World fix. Uncle Mark made me an authentic Disney CD with the music from all the rides which is officially driving my father crazy as it plays on loop.

The next day, mama and dada went on their USC reunion trip out to the desert. This left the keys to the car and all responsibilities in the hands of Dubby and Linnie. This also meant non-stop fun. We went bowling; ate sprinkle donuts; and crashed hard at night. Dubby and I agreed that the next visit will be in Long Island and we will go on the boat with grandpa Andy.

Project Little Brother (week 24)
Christopher loves to have family in town, in particular, because he is a love monkey and can't get enough hugs, kisses and attention. He began jumping in his exersaucer this past week and shows great promise as an interior lineman. Mama says that if he keeps jumping, he may develop the largest calves in the family. He is definitely the happiest guy in the house at 5:00 AM in the morning...but watch-out if he gets hungry. The only time he will really let you have it is if his stomach is empty!
