Easter has finally come! Although I am not big into collecting Easter eggs like most children, the Easter season is extremely important to me considering my love of the cross and sherch. This is one of my favorite holidays because between lent, palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday; there are more opportunities to go to sherch and everyone is super-charged up about it. The chocolate is no kick in the shins either.
This Easter we took mamas-new-car, up the coast to San Luis Obispo to see Copa and cranpa. Great Gwandma Betty came with us and the barn, winmeal, and chinkins were waiting for us when we arrived. I'm having a hard time sleeping right now (both in my crib and in the car), so the trip was a little longer than usual.
On Saturday, we got to spend time with my godparents Zac and Kate. All of us went to the Easter Egg hunt at Elm Street Park where thousands of kids and parents hunted easter eggs and played in the carnival. I wasn't into the Easter Egg hunting no matter how much everyone prodded me and tried different baketball analogies to get me to pick them up. However, there was an awesome slide and swings in the playground which was sufficient for a good time.
The neat thing about the Easter Egg Hunt at Elm Street Park is that my cranpa John started the event 30 years ago and it is still going today bigger than ever. There are also tennis courts named after him for helping to build the park in the first place. Cranpa John is big into playing any kind of sport or game...so he was in his element.
On Sunday, we are going to sherch and will probably eat lots of shocolat bunnies. There is also a baby shower for godmother Kate (which will be sort of strange for everyone to watch the baby take a shower). In any case, Easter is definitely one of the best holidays you can get!
Word of the Week
Oh Man!: an exclamation that can be attached to any statement to punctuate its importance. Usually an expression of something good but can also be used to express frustration or discontent and sometimes substituted (by dada) with profanity. Oh Man! is usually used with a smile on one's face; and sometimes used in conjunction with "dude" or "shoot!"
