Thanksgiving 2017 (week 567)

Since we were kicked-out of our house for construction (and living at the Hubers as one big, happy, 9-person family), we decided to leave Long Beach altogether and spend a week in San Luis Obispo for Thanksgiving with our family.  It actually worked out pretty well.  Dad took vacation, school was already out, and Grandma Paula's extra rooms were available!  It is rare for so many things to fall into place but it did; and, we had an awesome Thanksgiving.

It was also fortunate that Cousin Ari, Uncle Alex, and Laura came to town to visit from San Francisco.  We got to see crazy Ari most days, hike to the top of Bishop's Peak, eat a giant bucket of fish and chips in Morro Bay, go golfing at Laguna and Monarch Dunes with Grandpa, hang out with Buddy and Sam, work at the St. Patrick's food pantry, tour Aunt Andrea's new Food Bank warehouse, and watch the Vikings beat the Lions on Thanksgiving Thursday!  It was an awesome trip and one of the few times that we ever stayed so long as a family in San Luis Obispo with our in-laws.

The coolest surprise was that Eli, Sophie, Uncle Josh and Andrea came back from Seattle on Saturday night for dinner at Grandpa John's.  We didn't know that they would be there but they drove straight from the airport to surprise everyone.  All of the cousins--Ari in particular--played football together like crazy people in Grammy's living room. It was a great time with our cousins.
