It was another disappointing ending to the all star baseball season for the ELB U10 Mustang Red All Stars. This year, we fielded the best team yet--and got knocked out of the sanctioned tournament earlier than we have in all our last five years. Not only did we lose the District tournament final to Torrance (who we beat two days before), but we also got knocked out of the Section tournament by our B team (after beating them twice). Dad said that it was my best season pitching--giving up on 2 earned runs in 18 innings, but it didn't feel great.
The good part was that we took the opportunity as a family to visit Los Angeles while we were playing two straight weeks in the Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades area. One day, we spent the afternoon on the beaches of Santa Monica and another day at Venice Beach. In particular, we were impressed with how different the West Side of Los Angeles is from Long Beach; and, that Muscle Beach is awesome. Since we haven't been in camps this Summer, we are seeing an entirely new side of Southern California.
