This was one busy week filled with reunions of all kinds. From Japan to California to D.C., friends and family members were on the move for Summer vacation, and we had a great time together hiking, swimming, and catching-up.
Most of the week was taken-up with our trip to Summerdale, with side trips to San Luis Obispo at the beginning and a Dodger game at the end (actually I didn't get to go). In total, Chris and I drove over 1,000 miles over the course of 7 days and got to see Los Angeles, the PCH, and the Central Coast; and in less than 24 hours swam in the Pacific and hiked in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
In between, we spent time with Devin and his family from Japan as well as Zak and his family from Virginia that were all in California for a reunion on the Central Coast.
It was great to see Wakana, Devin, Ryan, Anna, Jack, Kate, Zak and Grandpa John. Although we didn't get to go to the Dodger game, we heard that there were great garlic tater tots, fishing poles in the parking lot, and some disagreement about directions. The Sherlunds also came to Long Beach to visit the Aquarium of the Pacific and had dinner with us in our house which is now fully under construction!
