The week following our big Christmas play, we headed back up the coast to Arroyo Grande to spend the weekend with our cousins for a "Cousin Christmas" at Grandma Paula's and Grandpa Mike's. We spent the night together, exchanged gifts, and made gingerbread houses. We are super grateful that our parents and grandparents were kind enough to drive back-and-forth to Ventura again so that we could spend time with our cousins. It takes a village!
Meantime, the parents back in Long Beach were up to no good with their annual Keisler/Armstrong Christmas Party. We have never seen any of this take place, but we hear that (a) children and not allowed, (b) it goes very late into the night, and (c) there is always lots of fighting over the answers to the trivia game. In any case, everyone survived another Christmas party even with the cold, the outdoor heaters didn't explode (or even work), and my dad was waiting for us with In-n-Out cheeseburgers and fries when we made the exchange in Ventura with our grandparents.
